Disney World Introduces Advanced Ride Reservation System

Walt Disney World is set to revolutionize the guest experience by allowing visitors to reserve ride spots up to a week in advance. This new system aims to streamline the planning process, offering guests more flexibility and reducing the stress of last-minute arrangements.

Starting July 24, the current Disney Genie+ service will be rebranded as Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while Individual Lightning Lanes will become Lightning Lane Single Passes. This change integrates elements from the former FastPass+ service, enabling guests to plan their visits more efficiently. The new system allows Disney World resort hotel guests to make reservations several days in advance, while other visitors can do so up to three days before their park visit.

The Lightning Lane Multi Pass will cover attractions previously included in Genie+, as well as new additions like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Guests can also purchase Lightning Lane Single Passes for the most popular attractions, similar to the current Individual Lightning Lanes. This update will enable visitors to view prices and select attraction times before making purchases, a significant improvement over the existing system where availability checks are only possible after purchase.

Guests can pre-book up to three Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections per day, with the option to secure additional experiences once they have used their initial reservations. Lightning Lane Single Passes will remain limited to two per day. Pricing for these passes will vary based on the date and park, but there will be no price increases due to these changes.

The complimentary Disney Genie planning tool will continue to be available, assisting all guests in organizing their trips. These updates are a response to guest feedback, reflecting a strong desire for more advanced planning options before visiting the theme park.
